| If coming on the A1- Turn off at Dishforth onto the A168 towards Thirsk (J49)and after 8 miles leave the A168 (signed A170 and A19 York) and immediately at the roundabout take A19 south towards York Or alternatively if coming from York - Take the A19 north towards Thirsk then About 3 miles south of Thirsk, turn for Coxwold (Brown sign for Byland Abbey) After 5 miles, at the crossroads in Coxwold village turn left for Byland Abbey At the old ruins of Byland Abbey turn left for Oldstead After one mile, turn left at the sign for Oldstead Grange Follow the farm road down past the first house and park near the millstone (From all other directions follow the brown tourist signs to Byland Abbey) |
